       Hoye Festival is a visionary celebration of Cantonese culture, inspired by personal experience and a deep-rooted connection to Shenzhen. In a context where Mandarin is dominant, the pressure to conform to Mandarin teaching has eroded our linguistic heritage, and I have observed a gradual decline in our native Cantonese language, leading to a loss of traditional cultural practices. Hoye Festival aims to reignite our pride in our Cantonese roots and rediscover our language, customs, and community.
